Dr. Benjamin J. Cousins M.D. has a strong desire to treat all aspects of injuries to the hand, wrist, forearm and upper extremity. Dr. Benjamin J. Cousins M.D. is Triple Board Certified by The American Board of Surgery (ABS), The American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), CAQ Certified and Fellowship Trained Hand Surgery. He has completed an additional ACGME accredited fellowship in Hand Surgery. While studying and training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine for his fellowship in Plastic Surgery, he pursued his interest in surgery of the hand in addition to all aspects of plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. After completion and graduation of his Plastic Surgery training, he then completed an additional ACGME accredited fellowship in Hand Surgery with the Department of Orthopedic surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Over the years, while at the University of Nevada and the University of Miami, he managed many traumatic and complex injuries of the hand and upper extremities and performed many delicate surgeries including free tissue transfer, finger and limb re-plantation and revascularization, microsurgery and a number of other complex, complicated operations. He continues to have a strong interest in all aspects of hand surgery including fracture management, carpal tunnel syndrome, ganglion cysts of the wrist and nerve and tendon injuries. During your office visit, Dr. Benjamin J. Cousins M.D. has published several articles and book chapters and continues to feel that contributions to medical literature and science are of fundamental importance to medicine, recovery and healing.
